Now is the age of science. All the wonders we see around us are of science. Science has made our life easier, more comfortable and more enjoyable. Now we cannot think of our modern life without modern science.
The discovery of electricity is.the first wonderful invention of science. It is the main source of human civilization. It has brought about massive change in our life, society and culture. All our modern elements and inventions like the radio, television, lights, fans, electric irons, mills, factories, and refrigerators work with the power of electricity.
Science has turned the whole world into a global village. Telephone, telex, fax, wireless, telegrams, mobile phone are great wonders. We can send news from one corner of the world to other within a moment.
They have conquered space, distance and time. Radio and television are also great media for communication. Science has discovered many wonders for our recreation. We have cinema, television, radio, tape recorder, gramophone and VCR etc for our recreation.
Science has lessened human sufferings. It has found out the new ways of health and life. Penicillin, X- ray, biopsy and ultra-sonography, E.C.G are some of the wonders of modern science in the field of medical science. Hospitals, private clinics and doctors cannot go even for a single day without these.
Science has removed the distance of place. It has saved time. We can travel hundreds of miles within a short time by cars, aeroplanes, buses, trains, launches and steamers. The invention of nuclear energy is a great wonder of modern science. The rocket is another wonder of science. It has made space travel easy. Man has landed on the moon successfully.
Computer and internet are also the most wonderful inventions of modern science. Computer is also called electric brain because it works like human brain. It can solve hundreds of problems smoothly within a second. Internet has wonderfully hastened the activity in any offices. These two devices have wonderfully changed our lifestyle.
Science is meant for the benefit of mankind. But man misuses this heavenly gift out of his selfish motive and brings unspeakable sufferings to human life. So, the gifts of science should be utilized for the welfare of mankind.
