A TEA-STALL
A tea-stall is a small shop where prepared tea is sold to the customers. A tea stall is very common both in towns and villages in our country. It is found in a market place, a square, a bus stand, a railway station and near school and colleges. In a tea stall, tea is served to the customers in exchange of money. But biscuits, bananas, cakes, betel leaves, cigarettes, etc are also sold there. There is often a boy or two to serve tea to the customers. At one corner the proprietor or the manager sits on a chair before table. He takes care of the stall receives the payment from the customers. Though some tea stalls are well furnished, most of them are poorly furnished. It is usually decorated with chairs, tables and benches. People go to a tea stall to take a cup of tea to remtove their tiredness. A tea stall is kept open from early morning till late night. It remains open all the time during election period. A tea stall in rural area is the meeting place of the people of the locality. They take tea and talk with one another. Some customers spend their time in idle talks over a cup of tea. People also share their joy and sorrows. Sometimes, people come to a tea-stall in a group and raise a storm over the cup. They discuss politics, daily affairs, various problems and what not. However, the customers should maintain courtesy while staying at a tea-stall.
